It was the Sunday of Memorial weekend 2019. Halima’s plans of going to the African Street Festival were canceled due to a downpour of rain. She and her friend Dara decided to pivot and find a new plan. They decided to attend a day party in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Moses on the other hand had finally accepted his friend’s request to go out after flaking several times before. Moses and Halima wound up at the same day party and after much encouragement from his friend, Moses built up the courage to approach Halima and introduce himself. At the moment of introduction, Halima just so happen to start filming herself on instagram story. She assumed that Moses was trying to get in the video so she softly pushed his face out of the camera. Halima’s friend and the surrounding party goers all had disapproving facial expressions after seeing Moses get played. Halima saw this and decided to apologize. When she looked up she noticed how tall, dark and handsome he was. He was just her type with his athletic build. They introduced themselves and Moses asked about Halima’s neck tattoo. She mentioned that the tattoo was a reflection of her faith in God. Moses began to talk about his faith and religion and Halima knew she had a keeper. Halima asked to exchange numbers and the rest is history.
